Piarom dates are one of the many varieties of Persian dates that have many fans in the world. Piarom dates, also known as Maryami dates or ‘chocolate dates’, are arguably one of the most delicious semi-dried (15% moisture) varieties of dates in the world. The color of this unique date is dark brown. Piarom date has thin skin and because of its low sugar, it is acceptable for diabetic people. High quality and good customer satisfaction of Piarom date have made them very special and it attracts most of the prominent international markets. Piarom dates are known as the most luxurious and expensive variety of Iranian dates that comes from Hormozgan province (Haji Abad area) in the south of Iran. Piarom palms are cultivated mostly in a range of mountains and irrigated basin areas. Piarom dates can be kept for 18 months under interim fumigation. Piarom dates should be kept out of the sun, at temperatures between 10-20°C.
